Michele McDaniel, Adviser
I’m the 9th grade Honor’s English teacher, and this is my 2nd year as the adviser for the Sword and Shield. I’m a 1997 graduate of the University of Georgia, and I received my master’s degree in 2007 from LaGrange College. I have been married for 15 years, and have one daughter, Baleigh. Being the adviser of the Sword and Shield is a lot of work; however, it is a job that I truly enjoy. Each day brings a new challenge. I have an awesome staff, but I really only think they show up for the candy!

Caley Anderson, Jester Editor
My name is Caley Anderson. I am a senior at Upson-Lee High School. I am also an editor for the school’s newspaper, the Sword & Shield. When I graduate, I know I want to go to a really nice college, but I’m not sure exactly what I want to do. It will probably be journalism (gasp!). I love to read those magazines that are displayed on a rack at nearly every grocery store. Every time I check out, I think about how I’ve always wanted to write for one of those when I grow up. I love listening to all different kinds of music, even the oldies. Anything artsy/craftsy is for me, especially painting and drawing. When I’m old and retired, my hobby will be glassblowing. I want to be super rich, and of course give lots of money to charity. I like to read for fun, my favorite foreign food is Chinese, and every time I watch It’s A Wonderful Life, I want to watch it a second time.
